MobiTV, Inc. and Amino Break Barriers with Newly Developed Set-Top Box Experience

EMERYVILLE, Calif.(19 Mar 2012)

MobiTV, Inc. today announced that it has collaborated with Amino to develop a next generation TV Everywhere offering, consisting of an Amino set-top box fully integrated with MobiTV's technology platform. The MobiTV TV Everywhere Media Player and DRM solution have been embedded within an Amino set-top box; creating a secure, high-quality adaptive streaming experience while eliminating the need for managed networks.

"This collaboration with Amino extends the boundaries of the standard set-top box," said MobiTV CTO Kay Johansson. "Our TV Everywhere solution, combined with Amino's award-winning technology, will provide customers a highly personalized experience on the television screen. Inside or outside the living room, our platform delivers a true multi-screen TV experience."

The MobiTV TV Everywhere solution is easily adaptable for seamless integration with existing TV service provider infrastructure and back-end systems. Service providers looking to extend their content to other platforms may leverage MobiTV's existing ingestion and encoding efforts.  As an end-to-end managed service that leverages MobiTV's cloud-based video distribution platform, the MobiTV TV Everywhere solution helps TV service providers reduce time to market and costs associated with deployment and operations.

"We're excited to partner with MobiTV to further our vision to connect people to the entertainment experience they love," said Amino's CEO Donald McGarva. "By embedding the MobiTV DRM and Media Player technologies into our boxes, our customers can now quickly extend their service reach beyond their own networks and deploy new services to target new markets quickly and effectively."
